All information in this report is drawn from public press releases published by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Press Releases page, current as of the time of publication. Each incident links directly to its original LVMPD release for verification. Details remain subject to LVMPD’s ongoing investigation and may be updated by the department after publication.
Las Vegas roads saw eleven traffic-related fatalities confirmed in July 2026 – the department’s Fatal #58 through Fatal #68 – along with four additional collisions that left victims with life-threatening or critical injuries. Two of July’s confirmed deaths originated from collisions in late June where the victim survived into July before succumbing to their injuries; per LVMPD’s numbering convention, they carry July fatality numbers and are included here.
July 2026 By the Numbers
- 11 confirmed traffic fatalities (Fatal #58–#68)
- 4 additional life-threatening/critical-injury collisions with no fatality confirmed as of publication
- 8 of 15 incidents involved a pedestrian
- 4 of 15 incidents involved a motorcycle
- 2 incidents were hit-and-runs where a driver fled the scene

For context, LVMPD’s press release archive shows the department had already logged its 93rd traffic fatality of 2025 by July 22 of that year, compared with fatality #67 reached by the same date in 2026 – a substantial year-over-year decline (LVMPD press release archive, July 2025). That local trend lines up with statewide data: the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety reported 167 traffic deaths through June 2026, down 16.5% from the same period in 2025, with Clark County among the counties driving the decline (Fox5 Vegas; Las Vegas Sun). Nevada’s full-year 2025 fatality count of 381 was itself down 9.29% from 420 in 2024 (Las Vegas Review-Journal).
July Incident Log
July 3 — Sahara Avenue & Torrey Pines Drive (Fatal #67)
A 66-year-old man crossing Sahara Avenue outside a crosswalk was struck by a 2010 Mazda 3 making a left turn from Torrey Pines Drive. He was hospitalized in critical condition and died of his injuries on July 21. The driver, a 17-year-old, remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. Original release · Fatality update
July 4 — Sahara Avenue, east of Van Patten Street (Fatal #61)
A 73-year-old woman crossing outside a marked crosswalk was struck by a 2025 GMC Sierra. She was transported to Sunrise Hospital with life-threatening injuries and died on July 11. The 33-year-old driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested for DUI-related charges. Original release · Fatality update
July 4 — Oso Blanca Road & Kyle Canyon Road (Fatal #58)
A single-vehicle collision claimed the life of the driver of a 2020 Ford Fusion, which left the roadway at high speed, struck a dirt berm, and overturned, igniting on impact. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Release
July 7 — North Rampart Boulevard & Canyon Run Drive (Life-Threatening)
A four-vehicle chain-reaction collision began when a pickup truck failed to yield to a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with the right-of-way. The motorcyclist, a 33-year-old man, was ejected and transported to UMC with life-threatening injuries; no fatality has been reported as of this writing. Release
July 10 — Boulder Highway & East Flamingo Road (Fatal #59)
A woman crossing Boulder Highway on a Razor scooter against the pedestrian signal was struck by a northbound 2013 Hyundai Sonata. She died of her injuries at Sunrise Hospital. The driver showed no signs of impairment. Release
July 13 — West Craig Road, west of North Jones Boulevard (Fatal #60, Hit-and-Run)
A pedestrian who had fallen in the roadway outside a crosswalk was struck by an unidentified dark-colored SUV, which fled eastbound without stopping. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle and driver remain unidentified. Release
July 16 — West Flamingo Road & South El Capitan Way (Fatal #62, Hit-and-Run)
A pedestrian crossing against the signal was struck by a 2018 BMW X4, which fled the scene; a second, unidentified dark-colored SUV then ran over the victim in the roadway and also fled. The victim died at the scene. The BMW driver was later identified and booked for hit-and-run charges; the second driver remains unidentified. Release
July 19 — East Serene Avenue & Spencer Street (Fatal #64)
A motorcyclist entering the intersection was struck by a Volkswagen Tiguan making a left turn against a red arrow. The 23-year-old rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The Volkswagen driver sustained minor injuries, showed signs of impairment, and was arrested on DUI-related charges. Release
July 19 — East Owens Avenue & North 23rd Street (Fatal #63)
A motorcyclist riding a reportedly stolen motorcycle was struck when a Chevrolet Equinox failed to yield and turned left into his path. The 48-year-old rider was ejected and later died at UMC Trauma. The Equinox driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and showed no signs of impairment. Release
July 19 — East Craig Road, west of North Nellis Boulevard (Life-Threatening)
A pedestrian standing in a travel lane outside a crosswalk was struck by a 2026 Kia K4. The victim was transported to UMC Trauma with life-threatening injuries; no fatality has been reported as of this writing. The driver showed no signs of impairment. Release
July 19 — East Cheyenne Avenue & North Pecos Road (Life-Threatening)
An e-bicycle rider passing a line of stopped traffic collided with a pickup truck as both attempted a right turn onto Cheyenne Avenue. The rider was transported to UMC Trauma with life-threatening injuries. The truck’s driver showed signs of impairment and was booked into Clark County Detention Center. Release
July 20 — East Charleston Boulevard & North 28th Street (Critical Injury)
A motorcyclist traveling eastbound was struck when a minivan made a U-turn directly into his path. The 23-year-old rider sustained potentially life-threatening injuries; several minivan occupants suffered minor injuries. No fatality has been reported as of this writing. Release
July 22 — South Sammy Davis Jr. Drive & Resorts World Avenue (Fatal #66)
A 36-year-old woman crossing outside a crosswalk against the pedestrian signal fell into the path of a northbound Toyota Prius. She was transported to UMC Trauma and later pronounced deceased. The driver was detained at the scene for an impairment evaluation. Release
Carried Over From June: Two Deaths Confirmed in July
The following two fatalities originated from collisions that occurred in late June. Consistent with LVMPD’s own fatality numbering, they are attributed to July’s total because the victims survived their initial injuries into July before dying.
Originally June 26 — West Flamingo Road, east of South New Forrest Drive (Fatal #65)
A pedestrian crossing outside a crosswalk was struck by a westbound 2013 Toyota Highlander and hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. He died on July 20, and the coroner’s office confirmed the fatality on July 21. Original release
Originally June 27 — East Desert Inn Road, east of South Pecos Road (Fatal #68)
A Nissan Rogue struck a stopped transit bus that had just begun pulling away from a bus stop. The Nissan’s driver was hospitalized with suspected serious injuries and died July 1; LVMPD’s release confirming the fatality was delayed until July 23. Release
